All Indians generally refer to Bhagat Singh as Shaheed Bhagat Singh. This extraordinary and unrivalled revolutionary was born on September 28, 1907, into a Sandhu Jat family in Punjab's Doab district. He entered the freedom struggle at a young age and died as a martyr at the age of 23.
CHILDHOOD OF SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH - THE REVOLUTIONARY:
Bhagat Singh is well-known for his heroic and revolutionary deeds. He was born into a family that was deeply engaged in the Indian independence movement. Sardar Kishan Singh, his father, and Sardar Ajit Singh, his uncle, were both well-known freedom fighters at the time. Both were known to be supporters of Gandhi's philosophy.
They always encouraged people to turn out in large numbers to oppose the British. This profoundly influenced Bhagat Singh. As a result, Bhagat Singh was born with a sense of patriotism and a desire to free his country from the clutches of the British. It was coursing through his veins and blood.
EDUCATION OF SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH:
His father supported Mahatma Gandhi when the latter called for a boycott of government-sponsored institutions. As a result, Bhagat Singh dropped out of school at the age of 13. He then enrolled at the National College in Lahore. He studied European revolutionary movements in college, which influenced him greatly.

PARTICIPATION OF BHAGAT SINGH IN THE FREEDOM FIGHT:
Bhagat Singh read extensively about European nationalist movements. As a result, he was greatly influenced by it in 1925. For his national movement, he established the Naujavan Bharat Sabha. Later, he joined the Hindustan Republican Association, where he met several notable revolutionaries, including Sukhdev, Rajguru, and Chandrashekhar Azad.
He also started writing for the Kirti Kisan Party's magazine. Despite the fact that his parents wanted him to marry at the time, he turned down the proposal. He told them that he wanted to devote his entire life to the freedom struggle.
He became a person of concern to the British police as a result of his participation in various revolutionary activities. As a result, he was apprehended by police in May 1927. After a few months, he was released from prison and began writing revolutionary articles for newspapers again.
TURNING POINT OF BHAGAT SINGH:
In 1928, the British government convened the Simon Commission to discuss Indian autonomy. Several political parties, however, boycotted it because there was no Indian representative on the commission.
Lala Lajpat Rai protested by leading a procession and march towards the Lahore railway station. The police used the Lathi charge to keep the mob under control. Because of the Lathi charge, police used excessive force against the protesters. Lala Lajpat Rai was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital. Lala Ji was shaheed after a few years.
This incident angered Bhagat Singh, and he devised a plan to exact vengeance on Lala Ji's death. As a result, he assassinated British police officer John P. Saunders shortly after. Later, he and his associates bombed Delhi's Central Legislative Assembly. They were apprehended by police, and Bhagat Singh admitted to his involvement in the incident.
During the trial, Bhagat Singh went on a hunger strike in jail. On March 23 1931, he and his co-conspirators, Rajguru and Sukhdev, were executed.
